PELICAN LAKE TOURNAMENT RULES
1.
The Tournament is scheduled for February
7, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on
Pelican Lake, Wisconsin. Contestants allowed
inside fishing area prior to start of contest.
2.
Should inclement weather cause
cancellation on 2/07/09, Tournament will be held
on 2/08/09, same time same place.
3.
Should inclement ice occur a random
drawing will be held for all prizes on 2/07/08
at 11:00 am
4.
The top 50 place prizes are determined by
largest weight and time registered. In the
event of a tie, the first fish registered takes
priority. Any size fish may place in the top
50. Contestants are responsible for
verification of weight of fish at time of
weigh-in. All weigh-ins will be videotaped, the
videotape may be consulted in resolving any
disputes regarding this.
5.
Each person will be allowed to fish three
holes per ticket, and only one hook/lure per
hole, three holes maximum. You may register as
many fish as you want, but only the heaviest
fish per contestant will qualify for a
competition prize. NO contestants will be
eligible for more than one competition prize.
There is no age requirement on tournament
participation. Contestants are not allowed to
share a ticket, as we are only allowed 1000
contestants.
6.
All fish entered must be brought to the
Judges stand immediately and be alive. Dead or
frozen fish are ineligible. Judges shall have
the right to verify that fish were legally
caught. The decision of the Judge is final.
All prize winners may be required to take
polygraph exams as part of the contest
requirements. In the event deception is
detected his/her prize will go directly to
charity.
7.
All fish must be caught and registered at
the Judges’ stand by 2:30 p.m. on the day of the
contest.
8.
All cash prizes will be mailed to the
winner within seven (7) days of the tournament.
ID and social security number required to claim
cash prizes. All ice augers, portable shelters
and ice machines will be awarded on the day of
the tournament, all ice augers, shelters, ice
machines, and other smaller prizes must be
claimed by 3:00 p.m. All unclaimed prizes will
remain property of Antigo Lions Club
9.
Contestants must fish in the same area
designated for the contest and will be required
to produce tickets on demand if asked. Ticket
checks as well as container inspection will be
performed.
10.
Contestants will be allowed to move to
other unoccupied holes in the contest area. You
are allowed to bring as many poles as desire,
but cannot use more than one pole, with one
hook/lure per line, per hole at the time.
Contestants must use holes provided.
11.
Entry fee for the tournament is $150.00
for 3 holes. Price per person.
Deadline for Registration is Monday, January 26,
2009. No refunds will be given for any reason.
As of January 27, 2009 ticket prices will be
$200. Per ticket, if available.
12.
Contestants are responsible for their own
safety, actions and property at all times.
Contestants must be in plain view from all sides
at all times. All laws of the State of Wisconsin
will be abided by.
13.
Single, two or three sided WINDBREAKS
made with CLEAR plastic or plexiglass will be
allowed. Maximum size per side 4x4. No shelters
/ tipped sleds
14.
Prizes are the responsibility of the
winners, including taxes. Proper identification
is necessary from all winners so the form
1099-MISC may be prepared and supplied to the
winners.
15.
No motorized vehicles are allowed in the
contest area other than contest officials and
police personnel. Any contestant bringing a
motor vehicle within 100 yards of the contest
perimeter may be disqualified.
16.
Contestants are encouraged to park in the
areas provided. Watch for signs. Contestants
are encouraged to carpool and use the buddy
system.
17.
Coolers, and large containers are
discouraged. No spears allowed. No underwater
cameras allowed. Heaters, chairs, bait pails,
and depth finders are allowed. No bait or
licenses sold on lake. Small chisels are
recommended as holes are drilled the day
before. The use of augers is not allowed.
Weighted lines without hooks can be used to
check depth prior to 10:45 a.m.
18.
Failure to comply with any contest rules
subjects contestants to disqualification and
removal from competition site, as determined by
contest officials. Right to refuse to sell or
revoke a competition ticket to anyone is hereby
reserved.
19.
There will be a Leader Board located in
the registration area. All effort will be made
to keep the board up to date and accurate.
20.
All fish registered will be considered to
have been legally gifted to the Antigo Lions
Club
21.
All contestants and others hereby consent
to the use of any photographs or likeness of
themselves to be used in the promotion of our
contest, including by not limited to print,
radio, or television, etc.
22.
Prizes advertised are based on the sale
of 1000 holes. We hereby reserve the right to
change the prize amounts due to a lack or
abundance of participation.
23.
All proceeds after prizes are paid and
operating costs are covered are at the
discretion of the Antigo Lions Club.
24.
We would like to thank you for supporting
our efforts to protect the environment and
request that you remove refuse, including
cigarette butts, from the ice when you leave.
Glass containers are not allowed in contest area
and will be confiscated by and forfeited to,
tournament officials. Waste containers are
provided.
WE WOULD LIKE TO GIVE GREAT THANKS TO ALL THE
CHARITIES AND GROUPS WHO HELP US OUT THROUGH OUT
THE SEASON AND THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT. WE
